About the Artist


Elizabeth Whelton’s work ranges from traditional landscapes in watercolor to abstract paintings in oil and acrylic.  The subject matter of her work is heavily influenced by her life in and around Maine and New Hampshire.  Fascinated by weather, botany, horticulture, and oceanography, she is always striving to deepen her understanding of the world and incorporate concepts and visual information into her work.

Whelton sells her work to private collectors through the US and is know for her self-produced shows in venues from barns to city restaurants. Her current work can be seen on her website: elizabethwhelton.com.

Whelton studied Art and Design at Alfred University and earned a degree in English at the University of New Hampshire. She currently lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and can be reached via email at ewhelton@gmail.com.
